YAM. We are very much muslims. The difference between us and other sects of muslims is that our teachings are evolutionary - our rituals change with time and location but the fundamentals are the same. If we look at the shia sect, the majority of shias believe that the imam went into hiding. We, however, have a present living Imam, and in my view we have caried through, to date, the beliefs of the shia sect. I hope this helps.
