Professor Amin Rajan

Appointed by the Government to sit on the Council for Excellence in Management and Leadership.
Amin was formerly an economic advisor at the National Economic Development Office, Cabinet Office, HM Treasury and the Institute of Manpower Studies. He has also carried out numerous studies for the UK Government and international bodies, and acted as a consultant to companies such as ABN-AMRO, Aegon Group, Barclays Plc, BP Amoco, British Telecom, Cisco Systems, EDS Ltd, Fiat, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, IBM, ICI, ICL, Legal & General Group plc, Lloyds TSB Group Plc, Merrill Lynch Mercury Asset Management, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, NatWest Group, OKKOBANK, Prudential Assurance, Royal SunAlliance, Shell, Storehouse plc and UBS.
As well as appearing on radio and television, he regularly contributes feature articles to the Financial Times, The Guardian, The Sunday Times, the London Evening Standard and other prominent broadsheets and journals. He has published numerous books and articles on leadership, business cultures, socio-economic forecasting, global developments, new technologies, training and Europe. He has presented the results of his work at numerous major events in the UK, USA and continental Europe, always with wide interest from the international media.
In recognition of his outstanding achievements, he was invited to give three major public lectures in the UK:
the Jean Monet Lecture in 1992
the Royal Society of Arts Manufacturing Lecture in 1996
the Royal Society of Arts Leadership Lecture in 2000.
In 1998 he was awarded the Aspen Institute’s Prize in leadership. It is a subject on which he has done extensive research involving some of today’s outstanding business leaders. In the resulting publications, he has developed a close link between vision, values, cultures and structures. His work has proved so influential that he now provides leadership coaching to well known CEOs and their boards.
