With a net worth of $83.9 billion, Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates is the richest man in America.
It shouldn't be too surprising that one of the wealthiest people in the world also has an insanely extravagant home.
It took Gates seven years and $63 million to build his Medina, Washington, estate, named "Xanadu 2.0" after the fictional home of Charles Foster Kane, the title character of "Citizen Kane."
At 66,000 square feet, the home is absolutely massive, and it's loaded to the brim with high-tech details.
We've rounded up some of Xanadu 2.0's most over-the-top features here.

Incredible underground city in Turkey that runs 18 storeys deep discovered by local who was renovating his home
Slide show:
http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/inc ... ut#image=1
These stunning images show the underground 18-storey city discovered by chance by a man renovating his home.
In 1963, a Turkish dad knocked down a wall in his basement, revealing a secret room which led to an underground tunnel that took him to the ancient city of Derinkuyu.
Photos of the preserved city document show 20,000 people - including livestock and entire food supplies - could have lived 85m beneath the earth.
Thought to have been created during the Byzantine era in 780-1180AD, the network of kitchens, stables, churches, tombs, wells, communal rooms and schools was most likely used as a bunker to protect inhabitants from the Arab–Byzantine wars.
During this time, cave-like chapels and Greek inscriptions were added to the ancient city , and about 600 entrances allowed people to come and go.
Heavy stone doors could close Derinkuyu from the inside in order to fend off intruders, and each storey could be shut off individually.
Amazingly, Derinkuyu isn't the only one of its kind - though it's in the running to be one of the largest underground cities.
The hidden community, in the region of Cappadocia, is connected to other subterranean cities by tunnels stretching several miles.
Only about half of Derinkuyu is accessible, but the site has proved to be a popular tourist attraction.
The historical region in Central Anatolia also attracts visitors with its incredible geological, historic, and cultural features, including rock formations and spires known as 'fairy chimneys.

Doctors Remove 6-Foot-Long Tapeworm from Man's Gut
Photo at:

Doctors in India removed a lengthy pork tapeworm from a man's gut, according to a recent report of the man's case.
The tapeworm, which goes by the scientific name Taenia solium, was nearly 2 meters (6.6 feet) long. In fact, it was the longest worm that Dr. Cyriac Philips, a liver specialist at PVS Memorial Hospital in India who treated the man, had ever seen, he said.
The 48-year-old man told the doctors that he had been having abdominal pain for two months before he sought medical attention, according to the brief report of the man's case, published today (Jan. 25) in The New England Journal of Medicine.
The doctors performed a colonoscopy, and found a segment of an undulating worm in the man's colon, Philips told Live Science. [The 10 Most Diabolical and Disgusting Parasites]
In patients with tapeworms, doctors typically find segments of the parasite in the gut, Philips said. But in this case, the piece of the parasite in the man's colon was only a part of the story.
Next, the doctors performed an endoscopy, meaning that they inserted a camera into the man's stomach and the upper part of his small intestine, to explore the upper part of the man's digestive system, according to the report.
They were surprised to find a whole worm curled up in the upper part of the man's small intestine, Philips said.
The doctors were able to remove the worm by pulling it up through the man's mouth, according to the report. The intact tapeworm spanned 1.88 m (6.2 feet), the doctors wrote.
Tapeworms can grow to be longer than 11.5 feet (3.5 m) and live for years in a person's gut, according to the National Library of Medicine (NLM). Because tapeworms usually do not cause symptoms, people may not realize they have an infection, the NLM says. In some cases, however, a tapeworm can cause abdominal pain, according to the NLM.
The whole procedure, which included the endoscopy and the parasite removal, took about an hour and 15 minutes, Philips said. The man was sedated during the procedure, Philips said.
After the tapeworm was removed, the man was given anti-parasitic medications to kill any remains of the tapeworm, according to the report. A month after the tapeworm's removal, the man reported having no additional symptoms, the doctors wrote.
In October, doctors in New York reported seeing an increase in a different type of infection from this same tapeworm, which occurs when a person ingests eggs from the pork tapeworm. These eggs can form cysts throughout the body, including the brain. The lead author of that report, Dr. Amy Spallone, a resident in internal medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York, told Live Science at the time that the prevalence of this particular type of infection in the rest of the U.S. is not well understood.

97-year-old twins leave world as they entered it: together
BARRINGTON, R.I. — Ninety-seven-year-old twins Jean Young Haley and Martha Young Williams left the world as they entered it: together.
The two women died over the weekend in freezing temperatures after both fell and became stranded outside Haley's home following an evening out. Police say they believe Williams fell as she walked to her car Friday evening, and Haley fell as she tried to get inside to call for help.
Williams' daughter, Susan, said Monday that she takes solace in knowing the twins entered and left life together, with one trying to save the other. She said it would have been incredibly hard for either sister to live without the other.
"It's powerful, it's astounding, it's stunning," she said. "And regardless of the pain we're all feeling, at least they're together."

Husband and wife discover they are biological twins after IVF clinic performs routine DNA test
A married couple discovered they were biological twins after getting a routine DNA test at an IVF clinic because they were struggling to conceive naturally.
The couple, who met in college, had attended the clinic in Mississippi in the hope that it would be able to help them have their own child.
But instead the doctor was forced to tell the shocked pair that they were brother and sister.
"During the process we take a DNA sample from both the male and female to get a profile of their genetic backgrounds", the doctor, whose name has been withheld to protect the patients’ identities, told the Mississippi Herald.
“It's just a routine thing and we wouldn't normally check to see if there was a relationship between the two samples, but in this case the lab assistant involved was shocked by the similarity of each profile.”
The doctor said his initial reaction was that they might be first cousins, which he said “happens sometimes” but then he noticed the very close similarities.
He checked the patient file and saw they had the same birthdays listed in the same year – 1984.
He then realised the husband and wife must be biological twins but did not know if they were already aware.
“It was a difficult subject to raise,” he said. “They burst out laughing when I asked them if they were twins.
“The husband said a lot of people remarked on the fact they shared the same birthday and looked similar but they said it was just a funny coincident and they were definitely not related.
The doctor says he continued to insist that the pair were twins and had DNA evidence to back it up, after which the wife "pleaded" with him to admit he was joking.
"I wish that I was, but they had to know the truth," he said.
The couple had met in college and hit it off due to their similar backgrounds – they had both been adopted after their parents had died.
The pair’s biological parents had died in a car crash and, due to a filing error, neither of their adopted families were told they had a twin.
According to the doctor, the husband and wife are now considering their future together but are thought to be exempt from facing criminal charges for incest due to the unusual nature of their case.

8-month-old baby weighing 38 pounds baffles doctors
An 8-month-old baby in India who weighs as much as a healthy 4-year-old has left doctors stumped over what could be causing her rabid appetite. Chahat Kumar, who weighs 38 pounds, was born a healthy baby without any complications, The Sun reported.
When she was around 4 months old, Chahat’s weight began ballooning, and now her parents told Barcroft Media that she cries whenever she is not being fed.
“It’s not our fault,” Suraj, Chahat’s dad, told The Sun. “God gave this condition to her. It’s not in our hands. I feel bad when some people laugh at her for being fat.”
Doctors have been unable to obtain a blood sample from Chahat because her skin is abnormally thick, the news outlet reported. She reportedly is suffering breathing and sleeping problems due to her extreme weight.
“We don’t have enough money for her treatment, but we do our best to make sure she gets well,” Reena, Chahat’s mother, told The Sun.

Giant turtle found on Spanish beach
A two-metre-long turtle has reportedly washed onto a beach in Calella, near Barcelona on the northeast coast of Spain.
The apparently dead leatherback turtle, which reportedly weighs 700kg, was filmed being removed from the beach with a crane.
It is reportedly the second leatherback turtle, or Dermochelys Coriacea,to wash ashore on the Spanish coast in the past month, after fisherman in Vilanova i la Geltrú found a 300-kilogramme dead at the beginning of September.
Sightings of the giant turtles in the Mediterranean are rare, with only ten being spotted in the last 2,000years, biologists told La Vanguardia.
The giant turtles prefer tropical and subtropical waters and are usually found in South America, according to the newspaper.
PereAlzina, a biologist from Arenys de Mar, told the paper “we could have the great surprise of finding a leatherback turtle nest in the Mediterranean".

Ancient mystery of how the Egyptians built the Great Pyramid of Giza may be solved
Archaeologists believe they have solved one of history's most puzzling questions — how the ancient Egyptians transported over 170,000 tons of limestone to build the Great Pyramid at Giza.
New findings at the site on the outskirts of Cairo have revealed purpose-built boats were used to transport the huge stones.
The findings shed new light on how King Khufu’s tomb, built over 4,000 years ago in about 2550 B.C., was built Archaeologists have long known that some rock had been extracted eight miles from Giza in a place called Tura, while granite was quarried from over 500 miles away.

Australian woman captures picture of enormous 2ft earthworm driven above ground by heavy rains
An Australian woman discovered a gigantic 2-foot (61-cm) earthworm after it was driven above ground by torrential rains.
Kelli Mace posted a photo on Facebook of her holding the huge creature with two sticks after it emerged from the earth around Tamborine Mountain, Queensland, and it was soon picked up by Australian news outlets.
The area, which is covered in rain forest, is known for the massive species of worm, known as Digaster longmani, and which can grow up to 3-feet long.
Usually they remain deep underground, but heavy rain across the Gold Coast area last week has driven the creatures from their borrows.

11-Year-Old Has Spent Her Life in Jail, a Serial Killer as a Cellmate
JALALABAD, Afghanistan — Meena got chickenpox, measles and the mumps in prison. She was born there, nursed there and weaned there. Now 11 years old, she has spent her entire life in prison and will probably spend the rest of her childhood there as well.
The girl has never committed a crime, but her mother, Shirin Gul, is a convicted serial killer serving a life sentence, and under Afghan prison policy she can keep her daughter with her until she turns 18.
Meena was even conceived in prison, and has never been out, not even for a brief visit. She has never seen a television set, she said, and has no idea what the world outside the walls looks like.
Her plight is extreme, but not unique. In the women’s wing of the Nangarhar provincial prison here, she is one of 36 children jailed with their mothers, among 42 women in all. But none of the other children have spent such a long time in custody; most of their mothers’ sentences are much shorter.

Security camera captures utterly bizarre accident on Chinese road

A security camera in China has captured the bizarre moment three identical lorries skidded one after another on a wet road. The remarkable clip, which was filmed on Monday in Longyan City in southeastern China's Fujian Province, shows the first blue lorry hit the slippery section and begin to skid. The identical second and third lorry, which are following close behind, hit the same patch and also start the same anti-clockwise rotation. At one point, all three lorries are spinning simultaneously, almost as though carrying out some kind of synchronised routine. No-one was injured in the accident.

Mexican Inspectors Find Tiger Cub in Express Mail Package
For some reason, someone tried to express mail a baby tiger in Mexico.
A sedated, 2-month-old Bengal tiger was found inside a plastic container, padded by newspapers, but with no food or water, Mexican authorities said.
Inspectors in the western state of Jalisco discovered the endangered species feline after hearing noises coming from inside a blue plastic box. The container had been perforated to provide air to the tiny cub, authorities said.
The animal was supposed to be shipped to Queretaro via express mail, officials said. There are several protected species in Mexico. Last year, several smuggled white tigers and a black bear were seized by Department of Natural Resources and Environment inspectors.
The cub found Wednesday was dehydrated, but otherwise fine. It is currently being held by the natural resources department.
The case is under investigation.

Documenting the last bound feet in China
Intimate photographs capture the twilight of an aesthetic which entranced China for a thousand years
SU XI RONG’s tiny feet made her one of the most beautiful women in her the village. Hers were a perfect form in a society which valued delicacy in its womenfolk. Photographs of her show an old woman proudly displaying her finest assets. Although to the modern eye, her gnarled skin and unnaturally bent toes can shock, a new exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences by Jo Farrell, a British photographer, brings out their beauty.
Foot binding became popular among the upper classes in the 10th century, during the Song dynasty, perhaps in imitation of a particularly dainty concubine. The perfect bound foot, known as the “golden lotus”, was less than 10cm long. The cost of such perfection was years of excruciating manipulation and pain. Bandages were used to pull the four smaller toes down underneath the foot while pulling the heel towards the toes. Walking on bound feet would push the metatarsals backwards until the foot broke, creating a deep crevice between the front and the back of the foot.

Two-headed deer discovered in forest described as 'amazing' by scientists
An “extremely rare” two-headed deer has been discovered by a mushroom hunter in a forest in Minnesota.
The conjoined twin fawns appeared to have been stillborn, but they are the first ones known to have been carried to term and delivered by their mother.
After discovering the specimen while out foraging near the Mississippi River, the mushroom hunter delivered it to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, where Dr Gino D’Angelo was working at the time.
Fascinated by the unusual creature, the deer ecologist froze it until he was able to examine it in greater detail and investigate its anatomy
