Ismaili facebook pages attacked

Post by YaAliYaMowla »

Ya Ali Madad,

Some of the Ismaili facebook pages recently have been attacked by Sunni/Shia people who are attacking the character of our Imam and our practices. For some reason, the administrator/creator of the facebook page is not doing anything to stop this and its been going on for a few days. Here is one of the links:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/His-Highn ... 7607457442

They are going to a number of pages and groups of Ismaili pages on facebook.

Maybe someone has hijacked the name of Hazar Imam and created this Facebook page to encourage anti-Ismaili posting. God knows!

How are you going to control access?
There is a reason most of our practices to date are doing in Taqiya..during our religious ceremonies, no nonismaili is allowed. When we go online and proclaim our faith - assuming the other party will be accepting..it's not going to happen - by such activities one has to be prepared to take the risk that one will be attacked - and we risk the imaan of many of the other unsuspecting ismailies.

I think we should blame those anti-Ismailis, those who break their allegiance and have gone astray. For example, look at Akbar Ali Meherali an anti-Ismaili, now day is a Wahabi terrorist who receive such a large financial and wrote so many childless book against all of the religions of God on the earth. I myself met some anti-Ismailis, they were barking worser than an animal. I was asking them what was the situation by doing all of these mentality things, they were pointing at this devil Mr. Meherali books.

Just ignore these trash.

Post by agakhani »

In my opinion the true Ismailis should ignore all these trash.
Sun can not hide no matter how hard any one try to hide it.
Do not discuss or debate with anti-Ismaili person or groups about our religion and MHI, and one of day they will know who were on right path.
The best way is stop reading or watching anti-Ismaili books or websites if you can not digest these trash talking smoothly. just listen its from one ear and let it pass by with other ear,

When I posted the link and argued with them on the page, I did this not for myself nor to convert them, but because I understand the privileged position that I am in with the depth of information that our Imam has made available to us. The ones who I worry about are the Ismailis who are not as privileged from different regions of the world and who may be misguided. It looks worst when there is no one to respond to these people. Again, it is not for the sake of my own Imaan, but those who are easier to misguide because of a lack of information available to them.

Intolerance should be condemned at all levels. But calling them names like devil and "childless" hurts more than it helps. Yet silence only encourages them.

You should to be reasonable and civilized even if they arent.

I agree with Shams. There is always a risk of getting an unkind guest whenever you open up a discussion on a public forum. And when it does happen, as Sheza said it, you have to be civilized about it.

Dear YaAliYaMowla brother

Why don't you invite those ignorance blind haters from the face-book here, so we may help them and clarify their misunderstanding of our faith from their negative perspective.... There is a saying " If it is hard to be a human, then who are we?"

lol these misconceptions will never be cleared. The reason being simple people are taking the statement "ali is allah" way to literally. People are not understanding the esoteric meaning behind these words

Just because we don't agree with you or bow to you as the "all knowing" we've become simple minded and ununderstanding?

once again..who or what gave you that authority to judge my faith or how i practice it.
Unlike you..i will have no problems going to the ummah and saying I do my sijda to Shah Karim...I will have no issues standing up for my faith or what I believe in.

ShamsB, its easy to say that from the safety of your living room :)

My personal opinion is that all religions (specially Abrahamic) have an element of Intolerance inherit in its teachings.

agreed..but our Imam tells us to accept plurality..diversity...somehow Imran tends to overlook that.

the difference between you and a hate mongering mullah(or an aggressively religious facebooker) is that although you both think you are superior to the other based on your religious beliefs, you don't try to impose your beliefs on him, while he does.

*we're superior* - that's the old school type of mentality that makes it difficult for us to make bridge with the rest of the Ummah. Even MHI shows utmost humility - wherever he is. I don't see why you have to be arrogant.

Shams, I'm not sure if what generation you're from (baby boomer ?), - and maybe your attitude was fine then. But for the new generation of Ismailis, they have to work more and more so with the people around them. and its our humility that will get us through. Not the type of arrogance that you display (in this particular case. I'm not generalizing this to your character or other posts).
