I went through the old discussions link but I am not convinced. Islam is for all humankind - so should be Ismailism too ---right? How can we expect the humankind to benefit if we have a close door policy? We are not selling some secret formula ---we are talking of spiritual well being of humankind -...

Non ismails not allowed in Jamatkhanas

why are non ismailis not allowed to enter jamatkhana and witness the prayers? My non ismaili friends want to come and witness , hear, observe our prayers in our jamatkhanas. I feel if they come and see then they will get imaan. Should we not encourage all humankind to follow our true path ? Publicly...

mukhi / kamadia selection

just curious - what are the basis - merits / requirements / qualifications for the selection and appointments of mukhi and kamadias ? I have noticed that most of the times - people who are regular in daily jamatkhana for years never get selected. Also only "the rich" are appointed .

Changes in our religion thru ages

The traditional five pillars of Islam namely: Shahadah, Namaz, Zakat, ramadan, hajj is practiced . Also other customs like doing wajoo and azaan, saying salaam etc. are practiced. My question is when and how did we (Ismailis) move away from these and bring in the changes to the traditional Islamic r...

This means in the ' pluralistic' society we bend backwards against our principles ? Pluralistic does not mean selling our values but means we have to amicably coexist with them. I dont care what the rest of the world do whether airline or friends. My understanding of Imams farman is not to drink alcohol. If the jamat and the whole world, muslim or others tend to still elect to drink it is their problem. But what about the alcohol being drunk ON our Aga Khan Museum and Jamat...

ISMAILI NAMAZ at Diamond Jubilee?

MHI had at the time of golden jubilee announced that there would soon be a uniform Ismaili Namaz but this did not happen. where did the ball drop? My bhabhi who converted from sunni at that time was eager so that she could follow the namaz which would not let her lose her sunni identity but this was...
