A thousand or so years ago, when Sufism was still in its infancy as a discipline and methodology for searching for the Divine, philosophical Ismailism was one way of describing the wellsprings of knowledge making up the structure of truth. In this cosmology, the Imamat is considered to be one of the...

Nasir al-Din Tusi wrote that book. He was an Ismaili theologian, philosopher and scientist who lived during the Alamut period in Ismaili history and partook his knowledge from the great libraries in the Alamut castle. Speaking about the link between MHI and Jesus, some have commented that at the recent visit to Germany by MHI, where he was given an award by a Protestant Christian group, MHI gave his acceptance speech in front of a Christian cross. During the early years of the Fatimid Caliphate, Abu Yakub Al-Siji...

I don't hink I can comment on that as I am not too familiar with that cultural practice. I have heard about 'satee', the practice whereby a widow would burn herself afetr the death of her husband. Last I heard the Indian government has been trying to stop the practice.

This is a good story about the value of knowledge and how it should be properly assimilated and used. However Ahmed Bin Ghazali, who became one of the greatest Ulema in Sunni Islam, was a vicious enemy of the Ismailis.
