Patience is one of the fundamental virtues in our tradition. In ginans there are four principle virtues viz, sat - truth, saburi - patience, zikr - remebrance, Iman - faith. You will find references to the chaar (the four) in many ginans for example in the Ginan "Samine saachu karine sreviye' there is a verse which states:

eji saameenu(n) naam reede thakee na veesaareeye,
ane duneeyaanaa heersaj vaaree-e;
evaa chaar paallo ne paa(n)ch vaaro,
to paveetra vasat savaareeye..................................2

O momins! do not forget the Lord's name from the heart, and shun
the attractions and the allurements of the world; Observe the four
virtues(truth, faith, patience and remembrance) and shun the five
vices(lust, anger, greed, attachment to the world and pride), then
you will ride on the holy path.

In the same ginan the Pir says:

eji kaam krodh moho trasanaa,
ane madh amal je koi vaar she;
khameeyaa naa khadda(n)g jene rade samaannaa,
tethee kaljug haar she........................................5

O momins: whoever controls or shuns the carnal lust,
anger, greed, thirst(for the worldly pleasures) and vain actions,
will have a sword of patience in his/her heart by which he will
defeat (the evils of) the present era.

There are also verse of Saloko on patience and forgiveness. These are mentioned under the thread:
