In Quran and other Holy Scriptures, belief in the existence of angel is considered to be characteristic feature of a Mumin (of their respective religions).
As ismailis (believers of batiniyyat), what is the actual nature of angels?
Are they to be taken literally or figuratively?
Some people consider them as electromagnetic waves ( carriers of information from one place to another)
Some consider them as higher faculty of human consiousness.
Pls try to answer this question in light of authentic ahadees, Quran or MHI farameens if possible
Also, suggest some ismaili or Sufi books which could help to enlighten me on this issue.

I dont think angels are just electromagnetic waves ( carriers of information from one place to another) . They are responsible for several work of thie universe.
There are many angels responsible for different work.
In Ginan saat sarag na kaa(n)i khulya chey duvar Pir Sadardin tells on birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) 33 crore angels met in celebrations.
In Ginan Sacha mera Khalak Pir Shams tells that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is beloved of God. An angel visited Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The same angel was ordered to make the statue of Adam from sticky clay.
