Meditation, as a process for the spiritual progress of your soul is very significant, being an Ismaili, there are lot of sources from where you can learn the way of practicing it. You may listen to the waezes which explains how to do meditation as per our tariqah and guidance of Imam.

Regarding the word Om, you will not find it in any dictionary as "Ali". It was only the interpretation made by author Syed Mehmood Gillani. As a scholar, he tried to interpret it as per his own view point as he asserted that Hazrat Ali was also called as Face of God, Hand of God, Father of Earth, Most High and so on. The author has also mentioned about Krishna's prayer.

If you do not believe his interpretation its ok. He may or may not be correct in his interpretation. He was simply trying to make connections of Hazrat Ali with the accounts given in different religious texts.

Besides Ismailis, some other Muslims also believe Hazrat Ali's noor existed before his birth. There are different hadiths and even Hazrat Ali's own sayings in this regard.

Absolutely right, there are some Shia sects and Twelvers also believe that Hazarat Ali's noor was existed before his birth, not only this but some believes that Hazarat Ali's noor and noor of Nabuwat were separated from Allahtala, when Allahtala created this whole universe first time during that time when even Adam & Eve were not brought in existence yet.

That is right and besides that in Hazrat Ali's own sermons and sayings it is mentioned that he was with different prophets e.g Hazrat Dawood, Hazrat Issa and so on.
