123. Jealousy in woman is unpardonable but in man it is a sign of his faith in religion (because Islam has permitted polygamy and prohibited polyandry).

As was explained by Nagib in relation to another saying from "Najul Balagha", some of these are interpretations from the Twelver Shia tradition and may not apply to our interpretation/tradition. Some of these sayings could have been concocted by the Mullahs to further or give credence to their view of the male dominance of society.
