Hazer Imam's heritage

Post by vwj1985 »

I know that it is believed that Hazer Imam is descended from the Prophet, but is this verifiable outside of the realm of faith? Are there really 1500+ year old geneologies that are reliable?

There are two ways you can go about one is to Saudi Arabia or Utha.
It is said that there is a muslim monk group that can and does verifies by DNA.
And the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City, UT has over 2 Billion genealogical records to seatch from. Let us know your findings  [/u]

 Well, it'll be quite some time before I get to Saudi Arabia, and I was told long ago not to deal with the Utah geneologies because you get forever stuck with mailing lists and Mormon proselytization efforts.

Do Ismailis generally just accept this on faith or is it also historically verifiable?

The lineage is historically verifiable. Read the history section on this site, as well as Institute of Ismaili Studies books.

There are several older books written in the early 20th cetnury.

The Aga Khan's descent from Muhammad was proven twice in British Courts.

That is very awesome. That makes him a formidable religious figure in my book.

Just remember it was Ali who said, "for quest of knowledge you must travel to China."

The Leader has to formidable to protect his flock and robust enough to stand the test of the times...
