Note: This article, and the articles to follow, is an extract from a group discussion with my students. In this regard I would like to thank my senior students for supporting me on my way of discovering ATTRIBUTES OF MY LIFE.
Thank You.
Attributes of My Life
by: Sohail Zindani
Now when it comes to observe your own life, believe me, the life becomes tougher than it usually is. Well, God created Human being and off course, designated him as his best creation, "ASHRAF-UL-MAKHLOKAT". Now it gets really interesting to know that why The God gave us such an importance.
Usually we make our answer to this question quite simple by saying that, he has given us the power to think, "INTELLECT".
But I guess this is not yet over. When I studied myself and other people around me, I came to know that a Human being is a blend of many emotions, attributes and features. I came to know many attributes like ANGER, HAPPINESS, FAITH, EGO>>>>>
Here I am writing about ANGER. Other attributes will be covered in my next article.
Anger
Anger, the most reliable source of committing a suicide. Anger is no doubt a part of human nature and so every normal human being have a right to get angry, rather I shall say that the person who never gets angry should concern a doctor immediately.
Now let us see that from where this mighty ANGER comes from?
One of my student gave me quite a reasonable answer that,"we get angry when we can't get what we have aimed for". I strongly support his view as when the situation is not up to my expectations, I feel really bad and rejected. This feeling of rejections ultimately leads to ANGER.
Now, the intensity of anger varies with the relations. Getting angry on your parents is really different from getting angry on your buddies.
What I am trying to say is that even anger is influenced by the ties of relation. A child may get angry on his/her parent's behavior but he/she would never use any unethical words to his/her parents, (and if he/she does so then I am really sorry about this). But in the case of friends, he/she might go for harsh words. It is really practical that the expression of anger varies with the relation.
But wait, what you think! Is the expression of anger ethical?
Well every one would have different ideas but my students suggested me that "expressing your anger is necessary, because if you won't, you'll hurt your self".
But it doesn't mean that you can hurt anyone else for your frustrations. What you sould do is dictated by your Intellect and so nothing can be suggested.
Now as we are all aware of the fact that Anger is a part of our nature. On the other hand as dictated by my self that, Anger is the most reliable source of committing a suicide. This controversy leads to a question of great importance.
"Should we get angry"?
I would say that yes, you should definitely get angry, really angry, if you hate yourself. I guess you are getting what I am trying to say.
See, when you are angry, your blood circulates with a greater speed which makes you feel more powerful then you normally are. This feeling of becoming stronger makes you do all that which you would have never done it in your normal state. And then, when your blood come to its normal circulation, you feel really bad about what you have done.
So now what you should do when you get angry on someone. Here are few suggestions which have been practically proved.
1- Watch any cartoon movies. For better results watch Tom & Jerry, assume
your self as Jerry and let the person, on whom you are angry, be Tom. Feel the magic as your anger will go down as long as Tom is in trouble.
2- Remember those days when you and him(the person on whom your
angry) shared pleasant time together.
3- Start counting numbers without breathing. Try to count as many numbers
as you can. Try this thing for at least 10 times.
These and many, many other practices can reduce your blood circulation speed, and so your anger will also decrease. But I am sure, still anger will remain their in you as nothing can destroy nature and ANGER is a part of nature.
Do tell me about your views regarding ANGER & let me know if you have any other way of reducing anger.
