Hold on to all that you are

Post by Soudak »

Strangers & friends often approach me and express wonder that I can face life, day-by-day, with a progressive disability.

I admit sometimes I do wish I could call-in "sick of my situation" and be absent from my bed, weak muscles and twisted shape. My message, I suppose, would sound something like this:
"Hello. This is Noor-ud-din. I need to take today off from my disability because lying in bed, the food in bed and to relieve the nature's call in bed, the computing from bed, have broken my endurance."

During times when I consider making this call, I realize that a rest from my routine is hardly the best cure. My endurance actually becomes stronger by exposing myself to the source of my discontent.

The way to beat my kind of distress is to give it a strong shot of determination. As worn as I may get from daily strains, I can be the one to needle life's bugs.
