DIVINE ATTRIBUTES
Some of the Divine Attributes repeated as a tasbeeh for zikr and
glorification of Allah are given below with their meanings. Each name may
be repeated 101 times to complete a tasbeeh.
YA ALLAH - O! Allah.
YA WAHHAAB - O! The Great Giver
YA ALI - O! Exalted
ALLAH USAMMADD - Allah is He on whom all depend
ALLAHU AKBER - Allah is Great
SUBHANALLAH - Glorification is for Allah
AL-HAMDULILLAH - Praise be to Allah
YA REHMAN - O! Beneficent
YA RAHEEM - O! Merciful
YA GHAFFOOR - O! Forgiver
YA KAREEM - O! Honourable
YA RABBUL AALAMEEN - O! Sustainer of all the worlds
YA ZAL JALAAL WAL IKRAAM - O! Lord of glory and honour
YA AWWILO - O! The First
YA AAKHIRO - O! The Last
YA ZAHIRO - O! The Ascendant over all
YA BABTINO - O! The Knower of all hidden things
YA HAFEEZ - O! The Protector
YA RAZZAAQ - O! Bestower of sustenance
YA RA'OOF - O! The Affectionate
At the end the following may be repeated for at least 33 times each
ASTAGHFIRULLAHI RABBI WA ATUBU ILAYHI
May Allah forgive me. O my Lord I repent for my sins and turn to Thee
ALLAHUMA SALLIALA MOHAMEDIN WA AALE MOHAMMED
O Allah exalt Mohammed and the progeny of Mohammed.
Finally the following is said once with raised hands in prayer (palms
upward)
YA QAZI-UL-HAAJAAT - O! Fulfiller of desires
YA RAFI-UD-DRAJAAT - O! Promoter of position
YA WALI-YUL-HASANT - O! Friend of the good
YAMUJEEB-UD-DU'AAT - O! Acceptor of prayers
SHUKRANILLAH WAL HAMDOLILLAH - I/We thank Allah and all praise be to Allah
