"manage your knowledge"

Post by NT »

After the Toronto PM deedar, HQ Mukhisaheb came on stage and said that MHI had the following advice for students: "manage your knowledge".

What is everyones take on this? If my memory serves, Mukhi had said that Mowla said that throughout our lives we would have several careers and that it is not important what specific courses we take as long as we manage our knowledge.

Does this mean to choose a field of interest, and then learn as many subfields of the chosen field as possible?

Very good question, I'm looking forward to a response as well. Perhaps these three words "manage your knowledge" can be understood better with full context or rest of the text of the instructions.

The quote was part of a summary of a conversation the Mukhisaheb had with MHI after MHI had left the deedar hall, so unfortunately I don't think it would be possible to get a full text of the instructions.

Perhaps someone who participated in the Toronto PM deedar could shed some light on this and provide a greater context?

So Mukhi didn't understand the depth and context of this instruction from MHI and was asking the jamat to interpret themselves? Or did Mukhi saheb shared the whole conversation with the jamat verbatim?

Mowlana Hazar Imam said the following in March 2005 deedar in Nairob, hope you will find your answer here:

>It is my belief that in the years ahead many young men and women of
today will change their careers in their activities two or perhaps
even three times during their lifetime. Therefore they have to have
the ability to access new knowledge to become efficient in the areas
of human endeavor and to perform at a competitive level.

to education but I simply want to underline to you today that notion
of predicating your positions in the future on solid education and
access to knowledge is a highly important aspect.

>If the world is becoming competitive and more and more competitive
then I hope murids will come together in professional endeavors, in
commercial endeavor in whatever endeavor you are in, but come
together to build strength and capacity......Ameen
