In the chapter of Autobiography of A Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda : The Resurrection Of Sri Yukteswar, there is an interesting description of the astral existence and the nature of astral beings. Sri Yukteswar resurrected himself after his death to describe the afterlife. Below is a quote from it.
"The astral body is not subject to cold or heat or other natural conditions. The anatomy includes
an astral brain, or the thousand- petaled lotus of light, and six awakened centers in the

In my opinion astral body is the ID of physical body, illuminited by soul. In dreams, it is astral body which goes out of physical body. According to the Theosophical founder William Q. Judge There are many names for the Astral Body. Here are a few: Linga Sarira in Sanskrit meaning design body, and the best one of all; ethereal double; phantom; wraith; apparition; ; personal man; perispirit; irrational soul; animal soul; spook; devil; demon. Some of these apply only to the astral body when devoid of the corpus after death.
According to Theosophy an individual is divided into seven bodies. The first body is the physical body which is visible. Beyond the physical body, there is the second body, etheric body. Lately there have been a heavy traffic on the ONLY tunnel leading to heavenly garden. The tunnel road is damaged, needs resurfacing with phosphate. Mostly U Tubers are trying to sneak into heavenly garden. The guards at the other end of tunnel are discussing to charge fees, may be no more free ride. Why is always meeting with Jesus/Yeshua? Is that tunnel made only for Christians? I haven't read about any Muslim travelling through this tunnel jumping into heavenly garden and seen THE PROPHET!!!
