Reciting of Tasbih 11 times in our Dua
Dear Spiritual Brothers and Sisters,
I was asked a question regarding the reciting or whispering of the Tasbih only 11 times not more or less. Tasbih such as Ya Mohamamd, Ya Ali, Ya Allah.
If any one can help whether the number 11 is a mysterious number in our Tariqah?

Number 11 brings higher intuition and spiritual insight, supernatural abilities, increased sensitivity, as well as empathy and natural intelligence. The number eleven is a sign of enormous power both mental and physical.
The deep down basic essence of the numerology number 11 is highly developed intuition. 11 is a spiritual number. It has charisma. It's dynamic.

I have heard of many numbers but not of 11. Maybe it is there only because the way the tasbihs are divided.
I have hear of 1, 7 (Hazar Imam calls 7 his lucky number), 8, 9 (there is a 2 hours waez by Babul missionary on the importance of number 9), other numbers: 12, 16, 25, 35, 49, 51, 84 but not 11.

Numbers themselves are not lucky or unlucky. It is the luck of a lucky person.
Zero was invented by ancient Hindus and numerical 1-9 were invented by Arabs. No where in any book it is mentioned that 0-9 numerical are lucky numbers. It can be vishwaas in any digit but that same digit can be unlucky for others. For example a person played the numbers 12-16-25-35-49-51 in lotto game and won say $100 millions, these numbers were lucky for him but were unlucky for other 100 million participants because they missed these numbers. But some numbers may have significance when used in religious matters. For example; there is significance of number 5 and 12 for Shias, 7 for mostly Sunnis, 99 attribute names of Allah, and in a Ginan verse;
Pantrees ney Pachvees, Soleh ney Aathh.

Arabic numerical value of word Muhammad is 92 and that of word 'Aly is 110. Let us examine these values and come to conclusion.
Numerical value of the blessed name Muhammad ie MEM- HA- MEM- DAL is 40+8+40+4 = 92 i e 9 + 2 = 11
Numerical value of the blessed name 'Aly ie 'AIN- LAM- YA is 70+30+10 = 110 i e 11 + 0 = 11
Numerical values according to Arabic ABJAD of words Muhammad and Aly is same i e 11, therefore (in my opinion) we recite Tasbih Ya Ali Ya Muhammad 11 times in part 5 of Dua.

Interesting facts, however in my opinion it is the practical considerations. The number 99 is significant because there are 99 names of Allah. Since reciting 99 names for a particular word or words can take a lot of communal time, the tasbi is divided in 3 parts of 33 beads. Then we have created tasbis with 33 beads divided into 3 parts of 11 beads.[email protected] wrote:Does this have anything to do with Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH and his family)'s 11 Wifes and and Hazrat Yousaf's dream about 11 stars Prostrating him.
Hence 11 times seems to be the minimum number of times a particular tasbi such as a Salwaat may be recited. It is easier to count without loosing focus on the meaning.

In my opinion Ismaili Tasbih is 101 para
If any one does not then he or she not reciting full tasbih
There are couple of waez about above and waez on why not recite any tasbih 11 times! If you study ismailisam deeply you will not find that you should recite any tasbih 11 times because the number 11 represents 11 imams of isnashris
Show me which Ismaili imams instructed us to recite Any tasbih 11 times?
If you want to recite short tasbih you can recite it 3-5-7-9 or 14 times but not exactly 11 times.
This has been deeply explained in Abu Ali’s many waezs
If you want to recite more then 14 bids then go for 33,40 or 101 paras
Or less then 14 then follow as I mentioned above but not the 11 bids
Because indirectly you are mentioning 11 imams of twelves in which Ismaili s do not believe!!

Ithnashri believe in 12 Imams, not 11 and they are called Twelvers.
God knows the Nyat of everyone, I don't think anyone recite 11 paras because they want to honor 11 Ithashri Imam but of course reciting full Tasbihs is better. However, whatever number of Tasbih you recite, MOwla will accept with generosity.

Their are 99 attributes of Allah and interestingly we recite 99 Tasbihs in a day.

It is said and confirmed that Ismaili Tariqah is one through out Ismaili world. But I have seen differences in practices of Tariqah. For example Tasbihaat; in occidental Ismaili world the Tasbihaat recited in numbers are different than in oriental Ismaili world. In western countries the standing Tasbih is in between both Duas and in eastern countries the standing Tasbih is recited after second Dua.
