ISMAILI NAMAZ at Diamond Jubilee?

Post by Haysal »

MHI had at the time of golden jubilee announced that there would soon be a uniform Ismaili Namaz but this did not happen. where did the ball drop? My bhabhi who converted from sunni at that time was eager so that she could follow the namaz which would not let her lose her sunni identity but this was never implemented and she continues being ismaili in name only following the sunni namaz. Will this come into effect at diamond jubilee?

The Ismaili Namaz was not to be compulsory but only to be used where needed.

If someone converted to keep her Sunni identity, she should revert back to Sunnism. Becoming Ismaili is not a game, it is a matter of conviction of the heart and of the soul. What good will it do to her to be Ismaili only in name?

My personal opinion.

Ya Ali Madad:
We have our namaz ,we call as DUA,
all religion have prayers ,reciting of word to seek grace, etc.
It is a motion, drill for those who have not understood the better meaning of life.
The word Namaz is not mentioned in the holy book.
Any act or word prayers OR totally TO DO AWAY in future is absolute prerogative of MHI.
nobody should suggest what other Ismaili should do.
If one can have zikr and remeberance of God/ALI all times ,then all motion & drill( TIME PASS ) and vocal utterance will be THINGS OF THE PAST.

Since it was MHI himself who said that the ismaili namaz would be introduced (he did not say dua) at the time of golden jubilee , the ques above was based on his words.
our Ismaili religion is very private no one knows much about its practices and faith unless when one converts (does bayyat). The person who converts to ismailism do so at the time not because of faith but out of necessity ( marriage in this case). Faith, conviction comes later with hidayat from Mowla.
So if another sect of muslim newly converted looks for familiarity in Ismailism to Islam religion where is the harm. The lady in ques was sunni newly converted to ismailism and felt happy at the time of golden jubilee that imam was introducing namaz, she felt he was doing it for her( conviction in her faith ) but it did not happen so instead of ridiculing her and questioning her faith we should answer her ques will the ismaili namaz be introduced as per Mowlabappa's farman. Make her comfortable in asking questions instead of saying she should revert back to Sunnism.

You are also right. There are many truths and no one except the Imam has monopole of Wisdom.

However you should read the post properly. It says IF she converted to keep her Sunni faith, she should revert. You can not have 2 allegiance in matter of faith, you have to make a choice.

There is no necessity to become Ismaili only for marriage. She can keep her faith and the husband can keep his faith, there is no contradiction and they should not dispute because faith is internal and personal. They still can be happily marrried even if they do not practise the same faith. They should only agree on what faith the children will practice.
