Hmm... there are many things in this world that can hurt you. each individual has his/her strenghts and weaknesses and hurt you in varying capacities. your ultimate protection from them is Allah.

That being said.. I don't know if anyone's nazar can hurt you but based on some things I have seen and experienced I think there might be people with super-natural abilities that could hurt you. Again I think all we can do in such situations is have faith in Allah.

Btw, some people put a black dot on their faces so that - unhe kiski nazar naa lage. You might want to consider that as a precaution. lol - jus kidding!

According to Webster's online dictionary, 'nazar' comes from Turkish for the evil eye:

http://www.websters-online-dictionary.o ... tion/nazar

The best way to protect yourself from the evil eye is to wear a hamza, or Hand of Fatima. This is done by Moslems, Jews and Christians all over the Middle East. I have one on my neck, on my keychain, hanging from the rear view mirror of my car, and in my home.

Anything that Jews and Moslems both agree to can't be wrong!

It is beautiful and since we are Fatimidis it is a symbol of our faith.

Here is an example of one:

YAM
From the Ismaili perspective, a momin is always protected as per the Farman: "A momin is engaged in both material and spiritual matters. Satan runs away from a true believer who recites ginans and prayers."(Ahmadawad, February 14, 1896).

Also a momin enjoys the company of angels as per the following verse of Anant Akhado and therefore is always protected against such forces of evil.

Aashaajee Farmaani jeev bahu malshe
huraau tenee hajur jee
amee-naa pyaalaa haathe deshe
rakheesar-ne gher vadhaaiyun............Haree anant..143

Oh Lord The Farmani(obedient) souls will meet in large numbers
and angels and spirits will be present with them
They (angels) will give them the Holy water by hand
and the homes of the devotees will be joyous and happy
Haree You are eternal

I agree that we are protected but God has given us itellect to use our judgement as well, if we are walking in the middle of the road, he is not going to shield us from getting hit from a vehicle just because of our carelessness this is just an example, so i think there are people with bad intents, and the surahs {surah falak and surah naas } were revealed when prophet needed them, if prophets are effected by hatred and evil doings of peoples then who are we? we are weak beings who need protection from God all the time. God has given us ways we have to avail them with nade ali or the surahs or what ever o&shy;ne believes in, this is my&nbsp; humble opinion . thank you & <BR>Ya Ali Madad[img][/img]
