The treatise that established the University of Central Asia was signed by Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan and the Ismaili Imamate. it was signed in Dushanbe on 28 August 2000, Bishkek on 30 August 2000 and Astana on 31 August 2000. It entered into force on 9th of February 2001 and was registered at the Secretariat of the United Nation on September 1, 2001.
