Rightly said Islam is a way of life HENCE so is Ismailism and it is this religion that will lead us to good in this life and hereafter. But I am always confused as Quran says one thing and we Ismailis do exactly opposite. Take for example : Vaju, which is a must in Islam and we do not do this; thats fine if our MHI has told us that this is not required, we HAVE TO OBEY no questions asked! But I need to see a MHI's Farman saying that it is okay not to wash hands or do vaju before entering khane. Take Agakhanis reply saying "if we wash our hands there will be a big line" . Actually he is not wrong becoz our JKs ,which are the most expensive, big, hitech, modern JKs have not made this Islamic facility available for the Jamat. You will be surprised to know that in Darkhana at Bombay as a kid I have seen lines of taps with slabs of stool marbles in front to sit down and do vaju ( they may still be there) that means Vaju was practiced in Ismailism, so back to my Question , did MHI ask us not to do (then there must be existing some farman saying this) or did we as a Jamat abolish this Ismaili practice for convenience sake? I have asked Missionaries but they give me replies like MHI has said not to do this, so I say show me and it goes on and on and on with no satisfactory reply!

These days MHI is personally involved in the planning and construction of high profile JKs. So we must take guidance from the way the new JKs are designed and constructed.

JK attire

Post by knowledge »

Coming back to the topic of JK attire, the women in our jamat should observe the dress code that Princess Zahra adopts in religious ceremonies and professional comittments

There is absolutely no show off and fuss about her dress code.

I agree with some of the earlier comments on this topic because if ITREB is not serious about this issue it might spiral out of control and it will be shameful for the jamat to receive a talika from Mowlana Hazar Imam to adopt appropriate dress code.

There is no ned for Talika as there is already a Farman on wearing proper attire in Jamatkhana.

As for the post of wuzu etc... these are just speculations and generalization from people who are jealous of Ismailis and who do not understand that there are thousands of interpretations of the Quran and we Ismailis are blessed to have a living Imam that guides us on the real interpretation..

Yes, there is a farman on simple and proper attire in Jamatkhana but unfortunately most of us momins have failed to obey our Imam. This includes our leaders - if they sitting behind the paat dressed up glamorously like models then the jamat follow their example. SAD! Wake up, No one is jealous of us Whether it is the vaju or our dressing sense in khane, they actually make fun of us asking us if we really pray at khane or we are going to some club.

So though our Imam guides us correctly most of do not listen and we have turned Ismaili religion into a materialistic glamour religion. How does improper attire fit into our Batin way of prayers?

Please can you tell me the name of the book or DVD where our Imam has given us his Interpretation of the Holy Quran? I have read many interpretations but have not come across one of MHIs

Yes here are some names:

Precious Guidance
Precious Gem
Kalame Imame Mubin
Kalame Imam-e Zaman
Golden Edition

Pick your choice. Ask Itreb for a copy. If they refuse, tell them you wil pay for the copy. if they still refuse, let Hazar Imam know they are not complying with his wish that the Jamat has unfetherred access to his guidance.

Maybe you are looking for Imam's interpretation in the wrong place.

Precious Guidance
Precious Gem

Looks like you KNOW that Itreb won't give me a copies. Why are there always roadblocks and redtapeism when we go to our leaders? How will the generation now learn about our religion if we do not provide them with materials? The generation now anyways have a lot of questions and are confused about our religion and we are unable to answer them. In fact the youngsters ask questions but are brushed aside saying that you have no iman that is why you are asking such questions and are questioning our authority.

"Let Hazar Imam know" And how do you think I go about doing that? thru the same leaders?

I have heard from some ladies who want to come to jk in simple attire. They said that fashionable members of jamat don't like to talk even don't like to stand with us in jk if we come in simple attire.

We must need to change this and come to jk with simplicity. Jamati and all mandlis mukhiyanis and kamadiyanis must come with simple attire so jamat can learn from them. They should be role model for the jammat.

Admin you did not reply as to how to let Mowla baapa know that when leaders quote farmans and I ask to see copy of the same farman they do not give. I have many of the old farmans books specially of SMS but hardly any of Shah Karim Imam and since Ismailism is based on Imams guidance for the present time and we should have present Imams farman

As I said, if no one gives you the farman of the Imam of the Time, get them by yourself. Ask around, ususally people who have them are very kin to share. I know there are even copies circulating amongst Ismailis by emails, that is pdf and audio files.

Ultimately once you are a grown up, it is not the responsibility of the mother to feed the children, it is up to the children to fetch their own food. I am sure you have been to Didars, if you have not taped the Farman or ask for it immediately after the Didar, there is something wrong. It is your right to have the Farmans and no one can tell you the opposite.

Anyone that quote a Farman but refuse to give you a full copie for you to read at your leisure should not be taken seriously. Imam said that when you go home, listen to my Farman again so the only way for you to fulfill this Farman is to tape it yourself and listen it on a sound system sitting in your own home.

The thing is whenever I question something about - which I am confused - I sometimes get an answer saying 'mowla nu farman che' so I ask for a copy of that farman which is never given to me because they can't presently trace this. Now I am having doubts that the answer ' Mowla nu farman che" is true or they just say it to get me off their backs.

That is right brother it is very hard to find current imam's farman books now a days and if some one try to print it council and Tariqua Board come forward and make him to stop it or ban it (recent example Mr. Jiwa's farman book ) and if necessary they take them in court too. any way your concern is solid but I hate to say that you willn't find right answer from Tariqua Board either because they are only sell books wihich are approved and printed by IIS.
I can suggest you telephone # one person from state, he is selling
( of course not me) many old and new farman books in English, Gujarati and Urdu please give me your e-mail address and I will give his phone #, you need to call him and assured that you are an Ismaili and want farman books for my personal use only. But you have to pay for the books and shipping charges if any. Please remember this, these farman books are not approved or printed by IIS or any Tariqua Boards so think this before calling him, I bought Golden Jubilee farman books from him and these farmans are as accurate it was delivered first.

Thank you. Seems long and complicated. But I got the gist. It looks like they were just organizing and printing farmans earning some sawab ,simlar to me copying them and giving to my sister anyways I will comment only after understanding properly.

But my grouse is everyone quotes and convinces you it is MHIs farman then for my satisfaction I say show me the copy of this quoted farman then I am blacklisted as I am asking for proof. Sometimes I wonder if the farman they tell me exists or not!
