built environment impact on our life

Post by baqi »

"I fear the day when Islam will be our faith, yet its outward manifestation in the building we work and live in, the painting and works of art we behold and the music we listen to, will be dominated by foreign cultures which have their roots neither in our spiritual beliefs nor in our great artistic heritage" (Speech 24 Feb. 1976)

this Farman depicts the severity of the situation we are facing now, yet we dont realize it..... material world is engrossing on our faith and spiritual life....we do commit blunders believeing they are inevitable.....But according to this Farman we must hold fast to our basic principles of faith.

Imam has long vision that is why he started programmes that would promote Islamic Architecture and Music and Culture heritage of the wider Islamic world.

While other Muslims condemn music, even their own, Imam is promoting Islamic music from various parts of the Muslim world. Those who saw the Mystical journey and other such programmes should be proud of our global Muslim heritage.

Khomeini banned music and so have others in the Islamic world. Music is considered relaxing. Prophet S.A.W. would bring women to the war zone and ask them to sing so that the men feel relaxed and energised to prepare for the war. Remember battle of Khandak? While men dug ditches, women sang!

Show me one Muslim leader who has promoted Islamic architecture?????? or Islamic Music, yet they sing Murasias, Qaseedas, recite the Qur'an in sweet voice, like a beautiful poetry!

From day one of Islam Music has been there, but the new dictators of Islam, have banned it, and then they claim to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet. Give me a break!

Singing does not have to be considered music. Why some people condemn music in Islam is because sometimes, the type of instrument one plays in music can intoxicate the mind. I don't believe the Quran per say says that alcohol is to be refrained from, rather intoxicants. Hence, some have banned music that has an instrument with potential to intoxicate an individual; for example, have you ever heard music, which pumps you up, when normally, when not listening to it, would not get you all razzled up? I believe, in this sense, it is a type of intoxicant - ie. something you would not do under normal circumstances, an intoxicant. Therefore, I do not believe that when some people ban music, they are doing something of a criminal act, as they believe, they are refraining from something which may have potential to harm. Not saying that I follow this personally, but it may be something to think about. When saying 'give me a break!' you have potential to hurt someone or offend them, whose intention is good, to please their lord.

Its true.....many religions in d muslim community believe that music is haram.......
BUT they are not aware that NOT ALL MUSIC IS HARAM
some music is permissible n some is not
the whole conflict merely depends upon INTENTIONS (NIYAT)

IMMPERMISIBLE MUSIC .....is that which may affect the upbringing in the daily life n take us to the negetivity aspect

PERMISSIBLE MUSIC IS LIKE...sad music....THE MARCHING BAND IN D ARMY
OR THE BACKGROUND MUSIC IN THE SERIALS WHERE FOCUS IS ON THE WORDS spoken by the actor......the music in the cafe or restaurant wher the intention was to come n have food.n not intending to hear the music played
it is gud if we prohibit to go to such places
i am in takhlid of khumeni sahab (may god bless him)
and as far as my knowledge is concerned i hav heared the above n plz enlighten me if i should know something more
thank u

Why dont you show me which musics are haram and which are not by using a little technology at hand. (btw even salafis are using technology as here

)

Here they have music and women also:

Here is tasbih music

I think music was created and most appropriate use is for praise of God, Prophets and Imams. It is entertaining and stimulating as well. The love songs ... only a few are good and

as for erotic ones, there is already an oversupply here in the USA no more needed.

We are not blessed with 5 times a day prayer call ... undersupply in this category.

Here a soul-nourishing recitation:
