references for 12.5% dasond

Post by adnan.ali »

while teaching in the REC, children often ask for the ginanic or farmanic references for 12.5% dasond. we have ginan that says about 10% dasond and pir pindiyat-e-jawanmardi also says 10% dasond. does any body know any reference regarding 12.5%.

Adnan,

There has been a lot of discussion on Dasond in this forum. Just click on the 'Search' button above just below the 'Welcome to the Heritage Web Site' and you will get a list of all threads that discuss it. By this method you will be able to find any concept.

For future reference, it is better if we have all related material under one thread.

Since this thread has been created, I will put the references here from the Ginan 'Aapnu Aap Pichhaano re momano".

ejee pa(n)jatanee re moman maal na deve
so umaru(n) kaa jutthaa dha(n)dhaa...........................9

O momins! A person who does not submit the tithe
(which is the right of the Imaam of the time),
is engaged in unrighteous activities through out his/her life.

ejee chaaleesaare hak bujo momano
tame chhoddo duniyaa kaa fa(n)daa...........................10

O momins! realise the fortieth part(2.5%) as being the right of the Peer,
and abondon the entrapments of the world.
