Was Prophet Muhammad omniscient?
Ya Ali Madad!
I have a debate going proving that if Prophet Muhammad was omniscient or not. From what I know and Alwaeez told me is Prophet Muhammad omniscient correct me if I am wrong. And is there any proof on that like in Quran or so?
Thanks for your help and Khushali Mubarak

If you read Quran it tells you Past, Present and Future. What do u want more to tell Prophet Muhammad was Omniscience…..

Yes thats true. But the Quran I thought was from Allah. I mean your point is absolutely right. So if I want to prove this the answer is the Quran itself?zubair_mahamood wrote:Mowla Ali Madaad,german_ismaili_33 wrote:Ya Ali Madad!

Now thats the point kmaherali which I am discussing on. I recite the Quranic Ayat regarding omniscient but it was rejected by saying its just attend the judgement day and that not the omniscient itself.
Now what should I say to a 12er who is out of exoteric and doesnt understand the esoteric essence.
But that was my first thought too with the Ayat. I just got confused because it says something with the judgement day.

I do not see any connection between the ayat and the Day of Judgement. Could you elaborate on how they make this connection.german_ismaili_33 wrote:Now thats the point kmaherali which I am discussing on. I do not think we should try to convince others about our understanding. We should say that that is our interpretation and others are entitled to theirs. Those who do not have the esoteric sense will never accept our interpretation and hence it would be futile to argue with them.
What should matter is that we can defend our beliefs on the basis of the Quran.

I think we must not argue on Quranic verses…. They are many Interpretations you give a verse to Christian, Sunni or Shia(12) each one will have different opinion… Quran is a word of Allah to Us and it’s communicated by Prophet and Imam of time to us!german_ismaili_33 wrote:Now thats the point kmaherali which I am discussing on. I think we all have Faith in God but have different Beliefs… it’s like we all are Children’s of Single father but our mother is not one, we must keep this in mind! I think in such discussion it’s not acceptable to say I am right n you all wrong…. We can discuss concept but can’t make someone believe them…as an Ismaili you know we are right and our tariqah is the only way for salvation which mean not only we but others will one day follow this tariqah to find salvation so just leave decision on time….
If we take Sunni interpretation there is a connection between this verse and Judgment day…! One doesn’t need to accept it but why didn’t you redirect their interpretation to them by say we will see on the Day of Judgment….!
As per Prophet Muhamad being Omniscience there are many things He mention in Quran were proven later in this age… like Stage of child before birth which is clearly explained in “Creation of Man” (give me PM I will give u website where u can find this book)…. Prophet spoke of the Darkness of ocean well He was not a swimmer or He is not the first person to reach the depth of ocean… Prophet spoke about Moon obviously he was not the first astronaut to travel on Moon… u will find many example like this if u read Quran or hadiths!
A friend send me this may be it will help u about Mowla Ali (i dont have source)!
A man asked Hazrat Ali (a.s.) in Masjid-e-Kufa, "What is the distance between me and (pointing towards the sun) and the sun". It is worth mentioning here about the complexity of this question. This man was an Arab. And in the Arabic language the numbers or count is limited upto one thousand (1000). The count in Arabic does not exceed 1000. The answer to the question this man asked dealt in millions (distance). It was like a challenge to Hazrat Ali (a.s.) to answer him in a convincing manner without confusing him. The man got convinced and walked away. But it is for us now to ponder on what Hazrat Ali (a.s.) answered, "If an Arab horse starts walking from here and continues walking for 500 years, then he (horse) will reach the sun." The man got convinced and walked away. But it is for us now to ponder on what Hazrat Ali (a.s.) said. This one sentence of Hazrat Ali (a.s.) shows and proves the genius that Hazrat Ali (a.s.) was. Hazrat Ali (a.s.) said "If an Arab horse...", the average speed of an arab horse is 22 mph (miles per hour). If a horse runs the full day (24hours) it will cover approximately 520 miles. This gives us the distance the horse will cover in 24 hrs (one day).
To calculate the distance covered by the horse in one month we multiply it 520 by 29.5 (Taking an average of the number of months in urdu calendar. Assuming that 6 months are of 29 days and 6 months are of 30 days.). It gives us something around 15,500. The horse covers 15,500 miles in one month (30 days). To get the distance that he will travel in one year we multiply it by 12.Since there are 12 months in a year. It gives you 1,86,000. Then multiply 1,86,000 by 500, as the horse should run for 500 years. It gives you 9,34,00,000 miles. Now if you ask an astronomer about the distance of sun from the earth he will tell you that the distance is never constant. The orbit of the earth is oval in shape. Sometimes it comes nearer to the sun and on occasions it distances itself from the sun. When the earth is closest to the sun its distance is 9,10,00,000 miles and the distance when it is farthest from the sun is 9,48,00,000 miles. When you take an average on these two distances it comes around 9,30,000 miles. Hazrat Ali (a.s.) 1400 years back told us about the distance of the earth from the sun. This also proves that Hazrat Ali (a.s.) was a genius in Astronomy, Zoology and Arithmetic.
I think we must take this example and try to b smart to convince our interpretation or concept(if necessary) but must not always expect other to accept it!

The question from where you get the idea is not making sense here. If you will read previous posts then you might get the answer of your question.a.salik wrote:the Prophet (pbuh) omniscient? this is the first i've heard of this. not sure where you might get that idea from, but i think most (?) would agree that only God is omniscient...
