Post by Madjnun »

Just trying to teach My Nephews DUA and TASBIH. I would much appreciate it if I could be helped with translating this portion of our Tasbih.

DUA NIYAT KHER, ILAHI KHER, AKBATJO KHER KARIE, YA ALI TU KHER KARIE, KHERJI VENTI SHAH TOJE HUZURME KABUL KAR NOOR MOWLANA SHAH KARIM AL – HUSSEINI HAZAR IMAM.

Thank You

A word by word translation was provided by shamshu in this forum as under:

dua=prayer
niyat=intention
khair=good
ilahi=divine or eternal
tu=you
akbat=akharat=day of judgement
venti=supplication
samr=to take with
puthia=after
shah toze huzur me=mowla in your glory (for your acceptance) (like an offering)
kabul kar = please accept

A free translation of the phrase as it appeared in the old dua states:

Prayer for good intentions --
O God! Show goodness towards us, show goodness at the time of our end. O Master! accept our earnest supplications with the prayer of good-intentions, in thy presence, by virtue of the Authority thou possesseth, Nur Mowlana Shah Karim Hazir Imam
