Thousands of Vancouverites geared up for the 22nd annual World Partnership Walk in Stanley Park led by Premier Gordon Campbell, Mayor Sam Sullivan and a host of other politicians.
"It's possible in the world we live in to think what you do as a citizen doesn't make a difference," said Gordon Campbell. "The Aga Khan foundation says to each of us 'what you do does make a difference.'"

The 22 annual World Partnership Walk
The Toronto walk attracted an estimated 7,000 participants. Bilaal Rajan, 9, who turned in $5,000 in pledges, walked the entire 5-kilometre route, which started and ended at Metro Hall.
"I do this for one reason: why shouldn't children in other parts of the world have what we have and take for granted?," Rajan said in an interview after his lucrative stroll.

brought together tens of thousands of Canadians in nine cities across the
country, Sunday, to fight poverty in the developing world. The largest and
longest running event of its kind in Canada, the Walk this year is estimated
to have raised $4.8 million and to have brought out more than 38,000
participants - a new record.
